I often get called out this time of year in Brighton and Hove with customers complaining that one or more of their radiators aren’t working.
More often then not the culprit is a stuck thermostatic radiator valve. During the summer people will turn off the radiator with the TRV and it will stay in closed position for months on end and when the valve is opened the pin remains in the closed position effectively shutting off the flow.
Changing the valve is usually a quick fix. I always use Drayton valves as they last a long time and usually don’t cause problems.
If you have one or more radiators that are not working in the Brighton and Hove area please call me and I would be happy to take a look and offer advice.
